StartOut sits down with SLAY TV Founder & CEO- Sean Torrington

Sean Torrington is a Brooklyn Born filmmaker and Founder/CEO of SLAY TV. He is a leader, teacher, mentor and inspiration for queer/trans youth that have a passion for filmmaking. He assists in the ascension process to elevate the Kidz. He’s a super hero and a creator.
What is SLAY TV?
SLAY TV is a global queer media network that elevate narratives of queer and trans people of color through curating and creating compelling cultured content.
What is your experience being an LGBTQ entrepreneur?
Being an LGBTQ entrepreneur has be a great experience. The community has been very supportive with the development of SLAY TV. We have gotten a lot of press from NBC Out, Out Magazine, Blavity, Huff Post, Out Buzz and more.
What is it like to be a super-user of the StartOut Community?
I think StartOut is amazing. By utilizing the programs StartOut offers, I was able to meet amazing business owners that mentored and helped me with insight on running a business. StartOut is important to me because it is a great way to connect with other entrepreneurs and to show the world what LGBTQ businesses have to offer which will bring economic and and social change.
What makes you unique from other LGBTQ entrepreneurs?
I have a dope ability to create something from nothing, I’m an alchemist. I am a great interior designer. I have a green thumb I LOVE plants.
